# Software tools in FairCOOP
This report aims to know a little better our tools with their characteristics, advantages and disadvantages.
Also we will see how we are using and how we should use them... I hope this will serve us to make better decisions.
If any of these tools has become essential to my opinion we should enable a version of their own and controlled by the assembly tech and does not use external services.
That is, if each one of them with their control system versions and system development based on free software.

## Drupal
Free Software written in php that is used as a framework for web applications, mainly blogs and pages in multisite. Has been in operation since the year 2000, and is currently developing version 8 and only for security bugs version 7.
Currently, there are about 110,000 developers involved.
So we can consider it a mature software and well structured.

## Discourse
It is a software very used to forums, a new generation after the own decline of the forums php that had their peak in the early years of the millennium is created in 2013 and it has done a good gap between the tools of communication, including bi-directional and with subsequent collection, as was the e-mail.

It is developed in ruby and javascript, with a participation of at least 600 active contributors. In the final analysis is still maturing, but with way of firm.

## NextCloud
The software comes from Owncloud and is a fork of 2016 for the derived business to that of its predecessor, it comes to meet the needs of file sharing-contacts-calendars-to work in common. Some consider it as the perfect substitute of googleAPPs. The community is about 500 active contributors. Currently in development the version 12 and 11.
It could be considered mature software despite of her young age by the previous history and for having managed to migrate to the greater part of the community of users, thanks to a great work of improvement and integration of plugins.

In addition to that could solve the issue of calendars, file pads and share contacts and agendas that would be necessary.

## Ethercalc
Software for collaborative writing of spreadsheets in real-time, essential in a horizontal organisation like ours. Use the browser as a sheet of paper and we have to provide you with the tools for easy formatting of the text and calculation. Allows you to use names, notes, comments and chat to organize the structure of the text.
The project was born in 2012 and not the project can be considered mature since it has a low rate of contributors, the system is not stable at all but in a good way.

## ValueNetwork
We need an explanation to this software, from my point of view... it's a mess, a chaos, it seems an innovative idea to establish different ideas and decentralized join points economic, management, development and experimentation, like the idea REA but through lack of understanding, consensus and difficult usability I would consider it as an experiment but never a software in production.
I'm still trying to know more in depth, the ideaología, the functions of this software, but I think that it has too many mixes...
2 domains pointing here, we don't know the server, mix together the mails and duties, the operation and reporting of failures should not go to the general.. our setup is not the software please! Must be modular. Apparently that would be the way but clearly even it is not and therefore is neither decentralized, nor kiss.
To my opinion does not meet any warranty of development of free software.
I propose to add more documentation, modularity, technology base established and establish a system of real development (dev-testing-production), with a version control system.

## SERVERS
### SRV01.FAIR.COOP --> LXC controller (virtualization system in boxes watertight)
LXC is a virtualization system to create boxes for watertight and able to split a machine as if they were many with each operating system itself. Thus increasing security considerably.
Allows you to scale the machines in an intuitive way, to facilitate backups and to balance the network in an appropriate manner.

Currently we only have one server.
