fairlogin is a non-profit single-sign-on identity management system provided by fairkom for its own and partner services. fairlogin is often used by SMEs, sustainable and social organizations but also private individuals. Creating and using a fairlogin account is free. For larger organizations or companies, we offer our own SSO instances.
Security and data protection are important to us. With fairlogin there is no data trading and no espionage. We do not sell user data for advertisements and ensure strict compliance with Austrian and European data protection guidelines.
### What is fairlogin?
fairlogin is a single sign-on service where users have the option to use a login application and password for various online services. Our open source identity management system implements modern security and usability. With fairlogin, individual users, organizations and companies can use various services with an alternative web identity and at the same time become independent of large ID providers such as Google and Facebook.
### Who can use fairlogin?
fairlogin can be used by social and sustainable initiatives and organizations, companies and private individuals around the world. This service is provided under a fair use agreement. Anyone who accepts the fairkom Cloud terms and conditions can use fairlogin and its services.
Your organization or company could also run its own identity server and connect with fairlogin and other NGOs. This allows us to build an ecosystem of distributed identity servers - independent of the major commercial players.
### How can I reset my password?
Simply click on “Forgotten password” in the login area of fairapps.net. Enter your username or email address and you will receive instructions on how to create a new password.
### How can I change the email address?
The email address is used for clear identification. It cannot be used for login, but the delivery address for notifications can be changed. Via [fairapps.net](https://fairapps.net) in the profile at the top right / Personal Info. If you get an error message, please send a request to support@fairkom.eu and we will do it in Keycloak. You still have to log in with the old email, but it has no other function.
### What services are available?
There are various web services from fairkom or associated partners that can be used with fairlogin. On [fairapps.net](https://fairapps.net/home) you will find an overview of all linked services such as fairchat, GitLab or faircloud. If an important tool is missing, you can add it as an issue [here](https://git.fairkom.net/fairapps/portfolio/issues).
### What are the limits of fair use?
Do you like the service? Do you use it often? We promote a fair online culture. Private individuals and initiatives can easily use a fairlogin account and many fairapps without barriers. If there is extensive use of our service(s) or an organization or company uses them, then a corresponding [package](https://shop.fairkom.net/) must be ordered or we will be happy to make an offer. If you rarely use our services intensively or beyond the package limits, please do something
[donate](https://www.fairkom.eu/contribute). This is uncomplicated and fair for everyone.
### Why is fairlogin fair?
As a non-profit company, the Austrian fairkom invests all surpluses in social and sustainable projects. Since our fairapps services run on an energy-efficient and CO2-neutral server, you reduce your ecological footprint by using them. In addition, our fair use principle makes it easier for small initiatives and organizations with relatively limited financial resources to achieve their goals.
### Where can I make suggestions for improvement?
Get in touch with your suggestion or question in the [fairapps support channel](https://fairchat.net/channel/fairapps). Requests and suggestions can also be made [here in the gitlab](https://git.fairkom.net/fairlogin /fairkom/issues) can be submitted as an issue.
### How can we unite?
If you operate your own identity provider, we sometimes accept integration and access to our fairlogin-based fairapps. An important condition is that we share a strong open source commitment and more or less the same values. If you think we should join forces, just write us a message.
### Can my application be added to allow users to log in with fairlogin?
We are happy to add new applications that use fairlogin as an identity provider. To cover our expenses for server monitoring and updates, we charge a small fee for this service. fairlogin supports SAML or oAuth / OpenID connect.
If you represent an NGO or a sustainable initiative or offer a service that might perfectly complement our fairapps portfolio, don't hesitate to ask about the conditions or a partnership agreement.
### Is a White Label ID possible?
We are happy to set up and manage our own identity provider, which is entirely under our own control, e.g. id.your-organisation.net. It is possible to define policies, federations, applications and user groups yourself. Please feel free to contact us if you have any further questions.
### How is a high level of reliability guaranteed?
Our cloud services have a double backup, one in the same data center and one in another. The data center is equipped with emergency power generators and has multiple internet connections.
A team of several system administrators monitors availability and has installed its own monitoring system. We provide support according to the best-effort principle; SLAs can be agreed upon request.
### How can I delete my fairlogin account?
Deleting an account is not yet automated. Please write a message to support@fairkom.eu. Beforehand, you should delete your accounts in the individual fairapps (for example at fairchat in the [user profile](https://fairchat.net/account/profile). Or state in the email which services you used, so we can remove you from everyone.
### 2-factor authentication
After registering on `fairapps.net`, the Account item can be selected in the drop-down menu at the top right.
In the menu that opens, select 'Account Security' > 'Login'.
In the lower part there is the item 'Two-factor authentication'. You must select 'Set up authenticator application' on the right side. A QR code then appears which can be scanned using the “FreeOTP” app on your smartphone, for example.
The second factor can be removed in the same menu. If you can no longer remove it yourself because your login has expired and access to your FreeOTP app is not possible, write an email to support@fairkom.eu.
