This tutorial is intended to show how to manage the signup forms of the local nodes to allow members to join the Local Node project in OCP.
Once you have completed this process you will be able to manage the work done by the people participating in the node, to make payments to them if decided, and to manage the FairCoin addresses of the node and the POE.
So lets go with the main point of this tutorial:
HOW TO CREATE A SIGNUP FORM
Once a Node is created and registered in OCP (See this link for more info: https://board.net/p/Local_Nodes_resources_index) you need to create a signup form to allow new members to join. Now this is not an automatic process so you need to ask any admin by contacting them in Telegram or sending an email to email@example.com and ask for the signup form.
You can also decide which questions you want to add, such as:
How do you want to contribute, how much time can you devote to the node,...and any other question you think might be needed.
HOW MEMBERS OF THE NODE CAN BE REGISTERED
Once the form is created people(active members of the node) can join by filling it in, so let's see how to do it:
For people that are already part of OCP (because they are a member of Freedom Coop or Bank of the Commons, or for any other reason):
Login with your credentials as usual, then go to Your projects and scroll down to find "Projects you can join".
Find the Node you want to join and click on it. On scrolling down, you will see the button to join the node:
click on that and then fill it in.
For people that are not still part of OCP and need a new account, we need to follow this procedure so that they can see the signup form and fill it in:
The coordinators of the node in OCP can share the url of the signup form to the prospective new member. To find out the url the coordinator goes to the project by clicking on Your projects/Projects coordinated by you and selecting the node project. There you can see the option "view form":
Simply put the mouse over it and right-click then select "copy link" and share with the new member. It will be in this format: ocp.freedomcoop.eu/joinaproject/name-local-node-signup-form.
*If you don't see this link it might be because you are not the coordinator of the node.
Now the coordinator of the node can manage the request, accept the member (or not) and register them if they are new. Let's see how to do it.
HOW TO MANAGE SIGNUP FORMS
As mentioned, the coordinator can also click on 'Manage Request' and see the requests and options will be shown, once again there are two possibilities:
New person that needs to be registered OR member that already has an account:
For those that already have an account (as in the image above) just click on 'accept member'.
For those that are new there is the option create OCP account,in this case just set up a provisional password and click save:
A mail will be sent to the new member with this provisional password so they can log in. Is important that all the new members change the password as soon as they receive it because the mail is sent to all the members of the project(!); this is a bug that devs are going to fix but till it is fixed it is necessary to change it asap.
You can also decline or delete the request if the applicant doesn't fulfill the requirements to be a member of the node.
You can manage all the requests by clicking on the different options:
New. Is the new request pending to manage
Accepted. To see those that are already accepted and you can communicate with them using the Feedback option that takes you to the comment box
Declined. To see those that was declined.
The coordinator also can manage the roles of the members and upgrade them to be coordinators of the node project if required.
Click on "Edit member relations" and change the role of the member:
