Once you login into OCP you will see your dashboard. You can access the Work plan in two ways:
-**'Your Projects'**: Here you can access the work plan (and the different associated tasks) related to each project by selecting the project which you are going to work on.
-**'Your Project Tasks'**: Here you will see the whole work plan from all the different projects in which you are participating/coordinating…
When you click on **‘Your Projects’** you will see all the projects in which you are involved, as coordinator or participant. Just click on the project for which you want to see the work plan.
Here you can see the list of all the open processes (work plans) in the projects that you participate. So just click on the task you want to do.
Once you have selected the Work Plan you want to work on just click on it to see the different tasks associated with it. We will focus on the **“Work”** section.
Lets see the different possibilities we have. For each associated task there are two options:
-**‘I’ll work on this later’**. By clicking here you can choose to do this task and enter the date when you are going to start to work on it. You can write a description of what you are going to work on in more detail.
-**‘Join this task’**. A task can be done by more than one person, so when it is taken by someone you can also click ‘Join’ in order to collaborate on it. When you click on it, an email is sent to the person who started the task to inform them that another person wants to collaborate on it.
-**‘I did some work on this’**. Use this feature whenever you log actual work done for a task. You can log work on one task as many times as you want, whenever you work on the task. It doesn't matter if you have committed to the task or said you want to join the task, you can still log work on it. By default it is suposed to be a paid task, but by clicking on the **“is contribution”** option to deselect it, it will be considered as voluntary work - which is also always welcome!
There are two more features you have to take into account:
-**'Invite a Collaborator'**. This option appears when you join a task and need some help from others or want others to collaborate on the task. Doing it it will send a mail to collaborators.
-**'Log unplanned work'**. If you do some work on the process that isn't planned (i.e. no task exists for it), you can use this button to log that work. It will show up as "unscheduled work", but you can get credit for it in the same way as scheduled work, so you can create a new task for this process, for you or for someone else to do. This is adding to the process plan.
In **'Your Tasks'** you can see all the tasks related to a process, or simple tasks you are taking and doing. So when you do a task you have to set up a description of the task done, plus the time it takes to you to acomplish it, then click on the Done button.
Also here is where you can set up a new simple task by clicking on **'Add a task'**, so you have to fill in these related fields:
**'Assigned to'**; you can leave it unassigned or assigne it to a specific person. When you leave it unassigned anyone of the area can take it, but if is assigned to a specific person no other person can take it. Fill in the rest of the fields and the task is ready to do.
In **'Take a New Task'** you can see all the tasks that fit wth your skills that are open and unassigned. To take it just click on the button Mine and you can start to work on it. It will appear in your tasks list.
Select the project associated (the work area in which you are going to set up the work plan) and a pattern (select **'communication work only'** or **'work only process'**).
We are developing these patterns in order to fit with the area’s work patterns.
Remember that also you can add more unplanned tasks at any moment by clicking on **“Log unplanned work”**.
That’s all for now! Let's work together, and remember this is a **first draft** of the Tutorials that are under construction, as is OCP itself, so stay patient, give us feedback, and lets do it all together! ;)
